Frank From Blue Velvet emerged from the grit and charm of a crumbling seaside town, blending a potent mix of post-punk, gospel, blues, rockabilly, and whatever else takes their fancy. The band’s journey began as a creative spark between shadowy country singer Andrew J. Davies and punk trailblazer Ogs, best known for his work with the infamous Peter and the Test Tube Babies. What began as a stripped-down two-man act quickly grew into something far greater. With Davies’ own daughter holding down the bass and a rotating ensemble of local talent, the band evolved into an energetic and ever-changing musical powerhouse.
Their debut EP, Sin Without Redemption, recorded under the Hastings-based label Property Of The Lost, dove unflinchingly into the murkier side of life. This was soon followed by their self-titled debut album, a bold and more expansive effort. The record blends biting, satirical lyrics with sharp, visceral riffs, exploring themes of redemption and collapse. Their sound has been aptly described as "Johnny Cash falling down a wormhole into a garage rock show," perfectly capturing the band’s ability to combine soulful reflection with high-energy chaos.
Frank From Blue Velvet’s live performances radiate a raw power and energy that leaves bass cabs gasping for relief. The band has already established a formidable presence, earning features in Vive Le Rock magazine, airtime on Radio 6 Music, and a 10-date stadium tour in Germany supporting Peter and the Test Tube Babies.
Vivid, unrestrained and brimming with vitality, Frank From Blue Velvet aren’t just a band—they’re an unforgettable encounter, often into a dark twisted world.
