X RAY CAT TRIO
OUT FOR BLOOD
DEBUT ALBUM RE-ISSUE
15th April 2025
Back in 2015 three young rock+roll upstarts from Leeds went into a garage and hit “record.” The result was the gorgeous Out For Blood album, 13 tracks soaked in a mono fog of twang, mariachi, double bass and vintage rolls. The lads pressed up 250, played a raucous launch party and sold the lot in a matter of months.
The band are proudly rock+roll and are a serious touring force having played with The Meteors, Jim Jones & The Righteous Mind, The Legendary Shack Shakers, Dan Sartain, Delta Bombers, Bob Log III, Daddy Long Legs through out the UK and Europe also playing Rebellion, Boomtown and Bedlam Breakout festivals.
We only got to know the Trio over the Covid year of 2021 but since then POTL released their sublime “Haunted” album, a “Live at the Jenny” album plus a flexi 7”. So when X Ray Industries CEO, El Nico AKA Death Ray Cat mentioned the decade since the first release, a plan was immediately hatched for the Out For Blood resurrection.
Limited to 250 “Pacific Blue” vinyl and, for the first time, 300 glass mastered CD’s the album is available to pre-order NOW for mid April shipping.
What was said then —-
"jagged, twisted, fucked-up Schizobilly. Great playing and wild energy. A shot in the arm for rock n roll." Gavin Jay (Jim Jones Revue/Righteous Mind/ All Stars)
"Out For Blood struts in with a whack of swagger, maintains it and leaves you wanting more. Yes it's dark, raw and rough but hell it's also damn good. Recommended! " Shakin Katz Radio
"Echo and fuzz laden inter-genre-fuck-fest of surf, spaghetti-western and rockabilly guitar all drenched in attitude" UK Rock+Roll
" X Ray Cat Trio definitely fall into the “Horror” genre. This is lo-fi and stripped back surf with a Latin edge, think Link Wray shooting tequila with a Mariachi band in a dive bar late into the evening. " Backseat Mafia
" I have to see this band and see them soon. They sound like almost the most fun you can have in a small room. They’re a riot." Vibrations Magazine
“X Ray Cat Trio are the finest swashbuckling punkabillys to surface on the Leeds circuit, a mutiny against orthodox genre, X Ray Cat freshly drench their amps with rogue-ish rock n roll and hillbilly horror punk, ricocheting twangs of blues from a supercharged Gretsch.” Big Cheese
“Tattoos, good looking fellas and a snifter of skiffle” Bizarre Magazine
